We welcome you to stay at River Valley Ranch where you can experience the ranch, enjoy viewing the Highland Cows, fish the Kootenay River, or just unwind and revel in the natural beauty of our off-grid paradise. Enjoy The Experience
We are an easy commute from the US with a Montana border crossing one hour south of us. The Cranbrook International Airport is only 20 minutes away and has car rentals available. Regular scheduled commuter flights arrive from Calgary or Vancouver. Winter visitors can enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There are a number of downhill skiing and nordic centers close at hand including Fernie and Kimberley. Spring, summer and fall visitors can enjoy changing leaves with Tamaracks and world class fly fishing in the Kootenay River, Elk River, Bull River, St. Mary’s River and Wigwam Creek. Alpine and wildflower day hikes, Bank Swallows, Rocky Mountains, historic gold rush sites, scrambling and rock climbing, waterfalls and natural hot springs are all within a couple hours drive. The family-friendly Kootenay River trout hatchery is located at the end of Fenwick Road. It stocks up to 1 million fish into over 80 lakes throughout the Kootenay Rockies region. Come back from your activities refreshed and enjoy some great organic food.
