Our Mission
We are Zbigniew and Aileen, lifelong farmers at heart. Zbigniew grew up on a mixed farm in Poland, while Aileen’s childhood stretched across Canada and Europe with animal care and horseback cattle roundups on her family’s heritage farm in Saskatchewan. With careers in health care and business, we built our first farm from raw land on the west coast, where we practiced permaculture and biodynamic agriculture. That experience shaped our dream of raising more cattle and sharing premium, regenerative, grass-fed, grass-finished, certified organic beef.
Today, that dream has expanded at River Valley Ranch on the Kootenay River in southeastern BC. Once scarred by a gravel pit, the raw land has been restored into thriving pastures, wetlands, and rolling grasslands. Our cattle are born and raised here in a closed herd, free to graze diverse pastures of grasses and herbs. The ranch is fully off-grid, powered by solar energy, with hempcrete buildings designed for sustainable living. From the way we raise our animals to the way we care for the land, everything we do is rooted in respect, resilience, and a commitment to delivering nourishing field-to-fork food directly to you.
