We welcome you to stay in the Farmhouse Studio suite at River Valley Ranch where you can experience the ranch, enjoy viewing the Highland Cows, fish the Kootenay River, or just unwind and revel in the natural beauty of our off-grid paradise. Leave feeling refreshed from exploring Kootenay River beaches, enjoying the Rocky Mountain views, hikes and starry night skies that go on forever.

Minimum stay is for three nights with check in at 4 PM and check out 11 AM. This 600 SF private studio at our farmhouse has a fully outfitted kitchenette, fridge with freezer, private deck with full size BBQ (with an extra pot burner on the side), luxurious 3 piece bathroom, comfy leather reading chairs, extra beds, organic linens and bedding. You will get to experience an eco-stay in our unique hempcrete build. Please contact us to inquire as to available dates and pricing.

Enjoy The Experience

We are an easy commute from the US with a Montana border crossing one hour south of us. The Cranbrook International Airport is only 20 minutes away and has car rentals available. Regular scheduled commuter flights arrive from Calgary or Vancouver. Winter visitors can enjoy snowshoeing and cross country skiing. There are a number of downhill skiing and nordic centers close at hand including Fernie and Kimberley. Spring, summer and fall visitors can enjoy changing leaves with Tamaracks and world class fly fishing in the Kootenay River, Elk River, Bull River, St. Mary’s River and Wigwam River (by special permit or guided). Alpine and wildflower day hikes, Bank Swallows, Rocky Mountains, historic gold rush sites, scrambling and rock climbing, waterfalls and natural hot springs are all within a couple hours drive.

The family-friendly Kootenay River trout hatchery is located at the end of Fenwick Road. It stocks up to 1 million fish into over 80 lakes throughout the Kootenay Rockies region.

Alternatively, have a no-car relaxation stay enjoying our Highland cows and exploring the ranch, beaches, ponds and surrounding Crown Land on foot.
